Loretto’s The Bernardine offers four residential programs based on the level of assistance needed. The Bernardine offers Independent Living and Supportive Living programs, as well as Enriched Living and Assisted Living programs, which are licensed and regulated by the New York State Department of Health.
The Independent Living Program at The Bernardine includes:
- Full-time maintenance
- Heat included
- On-site coin operated laundry
- Spacious activity rooms
- Library
- Planned social activities and outings
- Services of full-time social workers
- Resident and guest parking
- Front door CENTRO bus stop
Independent Living Program residents are also offered cable television access at a discounted rate, and can participate in our Meal Voucher Program for a modest fee.
The Bernardine also features a unique Supportive Living Program with added services, including:
- Weekly housekeeping
- Weekly laundry
- One meal daily
As health care needs change, The Bernardine is pleased to offer our Enriched Living Program*, where residents receive:
- Three meals daily
- Medication supervision
- Assistance with personal care
- Weekly laundry and housekeeping services
- Clinical care coordination
The Bernardine also offers an Assisted Living Program* for medically stable individuals who qualify for nursing home level of care and are eligible for Medicaid. In addition to the standard services listed above through our Enriched Housing Program, the Assisted Living Program at The Bernardine also provides:
- Medical Alert System that supplements scheduled reassurance checks up to every two hours
- Escorts to meals
- Glucose monitoring
- Assistance with oxygen therapy
- Daily personal assistance with bathing, grooming and bathroom (toileting) assistance
- Healthcare professionals on staff 24 hours a day with Registered Nurse (RN) supervision
*Enriched Living and Medicaid Assisted Living Programs are available for those who meet the medical and financial criteria.
